VAT at 20% applies to clients in the UK. Many clients applying from outside the UK are not charged VAT; we confirm at the outset. A fixed fee does not change if the work takes longer than expected and does not depend on the outcome. If you withdraw before submission, we charge for the work done up to that point.

Home Office fees and other costs (2026)

  • Partner visa from outside the UK: £2,064. From inside the UK: £1,407. Settlement: £3,226.
  • Immigration health surcharge: £1,035 a year, paid for the whole visa (£3,105 on 33 months, £2,587.50 on 30 months). Not charged on a fiancé visa or at settlement.
  • Priority service £500; super priority £1,000 (UK applications).
  • English test around £150; Life in the UK test £50; TB test varies by country; certified translations typically £30 to £60 a page; tribunal fee £82 or £144.
  • Counsel for a hearing, where used: typically £750 to £1,500, agreed with you first.

Hourly rates

Where a fixed fee is not suitable we charge by the hour, in six-minute units: senior solicitor £350, solicitor £220, trainee solicitor £125, caseworker £95, all plus VAT. We give an estimate of hours at the start and update it if the work changes.

What affects the price

Fees go up where the immigration history is complicated, a previous refusal has to be answered, evidence has to be obtained from third parties, or deadlines are short. They come down where you have everything ready at the first meeting, or where we have acted for you before.
